Establishing a Teachall Language Training Center is a joint effort between Teachall and the franchisee. Every location has different requirements and issues that will be addressed jointly by the Franchisor (Teachall) and Franchisee. The steps involved in establishing a franchise will look similar to the steps outlined below. However, individual situations and cities will have different requirements and potentially different processes.
The steps are as follows:
1. Initial discussions between the potential franchisee and Teachall Consulting (Beijing) to discuss specifics of agreement and arrangements.
2. Sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties.
3. Jointly develop a site-specific Business Plan with Teachall.
4. Determine the most appropriate entity and structure to use.
5. Both parties sign the Franchise Agreement.
6. A Teachall senior staff member will conduct a site visit and report on the next steps.
7. Secure school location by looking for a proper building. A natural tendency is to search for existing school buildings; however, this may not be the best choice. Oftentimes, Chinese school buildings and classroom setups do not fit with the way Teachall classes are designed to be run. Using the curriculum provided, one foreign teacher can support three classrooms with the help of Chinese assistants. Also, it is recommended that each school has a waiting area for parents. This room is can be beneficial to the effective running of a site because it can also be used for an English Corner, a library, or even a coffee shop.
When searching for the best site, be firm and negotiate the best deal possible. Once the details of the lease agreement have been worked out, Teachall will assist in creating the contract.
8. Obtain a Business License and/or Private School License.
9. Apply for Visas, both for short and long term situations.
10. Transfer registered capital and open a bank account.
11. Jointly develop a Marketing Plan to recruit students. This marketing plan will include an initial launch strategy.
12. Teachall will provide you with a START UP KIT, which includes a range of marketing materials, curriculum samples, posters and electronic copies of Teachall Logos and trademarks.
13. Outfit classrooms with necessary equipment and order supplies for the first classes, as well as erect Teachall Signage both internally and external to the building.
14. Recruit staff. Begin looking for a foreign teacher(s) who would be able to teach in the training center. The main qualification for a teacher is that they are a native English speaker. The foreign teacher is usually only in the classroom for a half an hour to sing songs, play games, and lead language activities, so it is most beneficial to the program if the foreign teacher has an outgoing, dynamic personality and is willing to have fun with the students.
Also begin looking for a local national teacher(s) who would be able to teach in the training center. The main qualification for the national teacher is to be comfortable enough with English to use communicative methods to teach English. The use of the Chinese language should be kept to a minimum. The Chinese teacher should also have a dynamic personality and can make learning English fun.
15. Install financial software.
16. Train teachers in Teachall Methodology and the administrative staff in the Teachall systems.
17. Set the starting date for the first students, prepare fliers, class schedules and pricing.
18. Finalize class schedules and bank the tuition fees collected.
19. Open!
